S/S 2017: The Scenery

Summer and spring – what else is there except the fresh fragrance of air and sweet colours of the scenery? My collection for S/S 2017 is not yet done. Today, I showcase the beauty of the colours green and orange which were, as a matter of fact, years ago, the shades that were difficult to wear. With Kim and Misha, and my lovely team, we have once again prepared a new batch of photos that will certainly fill your stomach with butterflies.

I simply dressed both girls with outfits that only speak an individual colour. Misha (left) went for green, with a cropped tank top and a vintage jacket. I gave her hoop earrings as well to make the look more elegant and less casual. I chose white shorts to match the outfit since making it green as well may look too trying hard. She wears green socks, however, and ends the outfit cutely.

Kim (right) went for orange, with a cropped tank top as well but no jacket. Her shorts, on the other hand, are orange but doesn’t look too trying hard since there is not a jacket that takes away a viewer’s attention. She wears simple earrings and a cute green bandana headband. She also wears socks, but this time in the colour red.

I went for outfits that are comfortable and make the colours stand out on its own.

S/S 2017

Spring and summer fashion trends for the year 2017 are full of bright colours, floral pieces, minimal design, and the year-2000-vogue. Together with my team, I have decided to create and re-create looks that are missed and are currently in the market. Check out the photos below and be inspired by the season’s fad!

Huge thanks to our models, Kim Turingan and Misha Fabian!

THE BADDIE

Planning the shoot was difficult, given our different schedules and the proposals I had to make for us to use the studio for free. Nonetheless, everything was worth it once we were all set and getting ready for the day itself.

For the first shoot with Kim, I present the baddie where the colour red pops and little details are simply up for grabs. I gave Kim a black bralette with a flower on the middle and paired it with a denim skirt. I love the simplicity of the outfit together with the red bomber jacket! I added long earrings and a bandana headband which helped change the mood of the style in an instant.

THE PRINCESS

With Misha’s first outfit, I made her look elegant but casual at the same time. I love how white looks with pink so I decided to put Misha in a full-white attire and handed her pink accessories that speak girly and fresh. To make the outfit less formal, Misha wears a white high-cut Converse.

BLUE & ORANGE

In this second set for Kim, I honestly choose this as my favourite since I love the way the colour blue blends with orange. Kim wears a blue top and pairs it with a darker blue joggers. As a stylist, I’m the type to mix only 2 or 3 colours for the outfit so as to stay minimal and effortless, but remain sophisticated. Just like in this look, Kim seems ready for a morning jog, however looks otherwise for she’s wearing beige-coloured mules. The hoop earrings and the bandana choker complete the look.

YELLOW

If blue & orange is my favourite for Kim, yellow is the one for Misha. I was inspired by the hype beasts in this look but remembered to still dress in a monochrome. For 2017, I choose yellow as the colour of the year despite what the professionals say. Yellow is bright and just always eye-catching. Here, Misha wears a yellow head-to-toe outfit and a bucket hat from Champion. I gave her nude Vans to look like a skater girl and a black bandana bracelet to give the look a third hue.

FLORAL KNOTS

Vogue said at the early months of the year that floral patterns will be a trend once more and they are, once again, right. Flare jeans are paired with a front-knot top and I gave her a red belt to look less simple. Instead of an overall urbane get-up, I gave Kim floral sunglasses to look more ready for spring and summer.

KEEP IT CHIC

And for the final set, Misha just wears a black bandeau and striped trousers. My goal for this look was to make Misha ready for a girl’s night-out. The huge hoop earrings I made her wear is a bonus in getting everyone’s attention. The outfit is also perfect for Misha since she can elegantly show off her toned body. With the pink belt, altogether, this look is perfect for every girl ready to party.1solo 1

MINUTE MONDAYS: Spring 2017

I usually just dress up comfortably with a cropped top and high-waisted jeans no matter how hot or cold the weather is. However, for this year’s spring, I decided to dress up a little more and paired my favorite outfits altogether.

Shot by Alyssa Llaguno, a great friend of mine, we created a minute video showing three styles that suit the perfect season of flowers, breeze and sunlight. Watch the video above and tell me what you think!

In addition, here are some photos we took during the video shooting:

SC x AUrate: DAY & NIGHT

In today’s fashion industry, night outfits are often worn in daytime. I usually stroll a good afternoon with a silk camisole and denim shorts, then spending the evening looking the same. However, mixing and matching clothes these days are still quite difficult especially during a whole day bash.

But here, let me tell you how I easily came up with styles that feature the same top for two different events. Featuring a white cropped top from ZARA and inspiration from AUrate New York, this one was an exciting article to accomplish.

DAY

This cute simple top was very easy to wear. It’s slim string made me feel classy and sophisticated. I decided to pair it with distressed boyfriend jeans from Forever 21 with an orange belt to make sure that I’m showing some skin but not too much *wink*.  The slip-ons from Primadonna, honestly my monthly fave, made the look more appealing and comfortable. With the string bag from Stradivarius, I was ready for an afternoon time with my girls.

What really made me love this look was the photoshoot itself… I’m a sucker for aesthetically appealing interiors and my friend’s house was just very pretty. Obsessing aside, you guys should really check out these slip-ons because I’m pretty sure you’re missing something!

When you’re out on a simple date with friends (or a man), be definite about your choice of colors. I choose white for a feminine style, but don’t be scared to dress with rainbows, always be sure that the colors match then you’re ready to go.

NIGHT

Next, we have the night look which will certainly make your heart squeal with pleasure.

(p.s. don’t mind the I.D. I was wearing. I was one of the organizers of the event so I had the opportunity to be in the VIP area yehey)

I simply paired the top with mini-shorts which says “EIGHTIES CREW” on its label. These were from H&M and it got the vibe of an athletic look at the same time a sexy appeal. The running shoes from ADIDAS, never spoke “sport” for the evening. Because of its pink features, it matched well with the rest of my look. I made sure that my earrings from Forever 21 and mini-shorts looked amazing individually.

If I’m going to be obsessing over something with this look, it’s gonna be the earrings. These babies, pink and dangling, got a lot of appreciation from the goers of the party. Since the fashion industry is once more haunting the looks of the 80s and 90s, make sure that you have accessories that scream Andie Walsh and Cher Horowitz!

Speaking of accessories, AUrate New York offers jewelry that forever make our hearts melt, ladies. With my day & night looks, I found a lovely bracelet from their website which I’ll be delighted to wear together with my outfits!

It’s simple, perfect for a morning rendezvous, and eye-catching, meant for any evening event. If you want to know more about AUrate, make sure to check them here and see their earring collection since they’re some of their best sellers!

I hope everyone’s having a lovely day (& night)!
